COVID-19 Update: Stay Home, Stay Healthy

March 20, 2020

Dear Friends of Washington CoastSavers,

Thank you for your support of CoastSavers and dedication to protecting our rugged PNW coastline from marine debris. In these uncertain times confronting COVID-19, all of us at Washington CoastSavers keep you and your families in our thoughts and are grateful for your commitment to protecting our ocean and the amazing species who call our waters home.

We recognize that the pandemic is affecting everything you do. Your well-being is our main concern. In order to ensure that everyone’s safety and health are a priority during this challenging time, we decided to cancel the April 25, 2020 Washington Coast Cleanup.

We know this is disappointing to our dedicated volunteers, and we appreciate your understanding. We are disappointed too, as the work we all do together is critical to keeping our beaches clean and our waters clear. Thank you to everyone who has participated in our cleanup efforts so far. We plan to be back in full force by September for Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) and look forward to welcoming you.

We hope the worst threats of COVID-19 are past and that you will be able to join us for the 2020 5th of July Cleanup and International Coastal Cleanup. To get up to date info about these cleanups please check our website. Registration for 2020 ICC will open in late July at coastsavers.org/index.php/icc-cleanup/.

We also invite you to share why our coast inspires you on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Stay safe and healthy,

Washington CoastSavers
